The government on Tuesday formed a parliamentary committee to probe the budget leakage. Nepali Congress (NC) had been obstructing the parliament since yesterday demanding to form a committee to investigate the budget leakage prior to the announcement. During today’s meeting of the parliament, UML Whip Bhanukhata Dhakal proposed to form a committee under the leadership of NC leader Ramesh Lekhak. The proposal was seconded by NC Whip Chinkaji Shrestha and CPN (Maoist Center) Whip Hitraj Pandey. With the agreement, proceeding at the House has resumed.

Earlier today, a meeting of the ruling alliance held at the Prime Minister's Office in Baluwatar this morning took a decision to this effect, UML senior leader Jhana Nath Khanal told Republica Online. Nagarik Daily had published news on the budget one day before the government made it public.
