A team of government officials monitoring Tripureshwor-based Angan Sweets shop has concluded that sweets sold by the shop are inedible. Hasta Rai of the monitoring team concluded that the sweets made by Pashupati Foods at Industrial area of Patan for Angan Sweets are dirty and polluted. The joint monitoring team comprised of officials from the Consumers' Welfare Protection Forum, Department of Commerce and Supply Management, Department of Food Technology and Quality Control and District Administration Office, Lalitpur and Kathmandu. The team found that workers in Pashupati Foods make sweets in dirty environment, without wearing masks and aprons. It issued directives to Pashupati Foods to provide its documents to the Department of Commerce and Supply Management within seven days. It also directed to maintain cleanliness for its workers and at kitchen.
